Linda Jones Simmons
Alto

Linda Jones Simmons, a native of California, graduated from San Jose State University with a BA and an MA in music. She continued post-graduate studies at Cal Berkeley where she earned her secondary and junior college teaching credentials and completed her teaching minor in English.
As a choral musician, she has worked with most of the major conductors from the twentieth century, while singing with the San Francisco Symphony, the L.A. Philharmonic, Robert Shaw's Carnegie Hall Festival Chorus and St. Paul Orchestra, and the Oakland Symphony, to name a few. During the nineties, Simmons was a freelance singer with the Los Angeles Master Chorale in addition to her work with Pasadena Pro Musica. For nineteen years, she was PPM's administrative director during the tenure of founding artistic director, Ed Low.
Simmons has been a member of Pasadena Pro Musica since the 1981-82 season. Aside from the rich and varied music performed with the group, she has remained ever grateful for the enduring friendships that have resulted as a most welcome by-product of her membership in the organization.
