It was taken with a 21 Megapixel Canon 5D/Mark II camera, with an image size of 3,312 x 4,140 pixels (the web-version above is a low-resolution version of 400x500 pixels). On high quality photographic paper this will allow enlargements up to 30x40". An 8.5x11" portrait at this quality can be stunningly beautiful, and makes a strong statement as a professional headshot.
